Tabor Youth Collective

Join this new summer youth arts program for teens ages 13-19! In this free 10-week summer series, planned with the Tabor Youth Collective, teens can take acting, original theater, and dance workshops and attend video nights to socialize with other teens interested in art. Most programming will occur Saturday or Monday evenings at the Tabor Opera House.

To learn more, join the Facebook group “Tabor Youth Collective / Colectivo Juvenil Tabor”, and email Sara Edwards for more information.

RSVPs through Facebook events are required, and parents must sign waivers. Download waiver here.

A *FREE* workshop with June 22-24 for teens ages 13-19 — a special 3-day workshop with professional artists from NYC:

Jimmy Maize (associate director for Harry Potter on Broadway) and Maridee Slater (Tectonic Theater; SITI company.)

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: This workshop is designed to empower students of all disciplines, interests, and abilities to become storytellers and investigators of theatrical form, using various contemporary techniques used by professionals and teachers across the country. We will guide participants to articulate their interests through dramaturgical and physical investigation to generate original theater. The final evening of the workshop, youth will have the opportunity to show their work to friends and family at the Tabor!

WHY THIS TRAINING: This type of training empowers young people by uplifting the idea that each human being has a story worth telling and empowers them to utilize the tools of the theater to tell that story. This workshop will build confidence, cultivate skills in teamwork and collaboration, and instill a proclivity for rigor and critical thinking.
